Upon arrival at Lalibela Airport, you will be transferred to your lodge. Begin your exploration of Lalibela’s rock-hewn churches, carved out of a single rock terrace in the 12th century.

• First group of churches: Bete Medhanialem, Bete Mariam, Bete Meskel, Bete Denagl, Bete Gologota Michal.
• Second group of churches: Bete Gebral, Bete Merquros, Bete Emanuele, Bete Lehiam, Bete Aba Libanos, and Bete Giyorgis.

Walk through the complex network of underground tunnels connecting the churches and visit the monasteries where monks and nuns live. Experience Ethiopia’s spiritual heart firsthand.

After breakfast, trek from Lalibela to Degosach Eco Lodge (altitude 3800m), offering panoramic views of the surrounding highlands. On the way, visit Bete Ambesa village, learning about local farming, coffee cultivation, and rural community life.

Trek through highland villages, learning about local crops and rural life, until you reach Yemrehane Kirstos, a marble church built inside a cave that predates the Lalibela churches. After a picnic lunch, you’ll be transferred by 4×4 back to Lalibela town.
