We did a 3 day tour to Danakil depression and Erta ale volcano organised by a wonderful tour agent called Mensur. The tour was out of this world spectacular and action packed! I highly recommend going to Danakil depression and unlike the other reviews, Erta ale volcano was a highlight for me as we saw spurts of magma in the volcanic crater. Even though the spurts of magma were small, it was exhilarating to see and I think I prefer the small size of the magma - anything more would have left me sleepless that night on the side of the volcano. My friend Hassan and I have visited Gondar in March, where we met Mensour who arranged the hiking trip for 4 days and 3 nights with other tourists, where we did hiking, saw waterfall, baboons, lammerger, wali ibex, and the 4200 m buwhite pass. The journey was very nice and well organized, I totally recommend Mensour if you're intending to visit the Simien mountains and he has multiple options, you can do half day trip, one day trip and up to 10 days and 9 night trip, the cost was quite affordable specially if it was in a group, because all the costs will split on all of you.

We booked a 2 day, 1 night hiking and camping tour with Mensur (+251975156015 on WhatsApp). It was a fantastic glimpse into the beauty of this area, you could easily spend 4 or 5 days. The tour included all food, water and transport from Gondar. Dinner was a delicious veggie meal! Don't miss this area of you're in northern Ethiopia.

Had an amazing hike through the Simien Mountains over 3 days and 2 nights. Incredible scenery and great hiking. I organized my tour with Mensur, who linked me up with great guides and cooks. Food was surprisingly great and I met some lovely people. The equipment used was also quite good quality (e.g. Coleman and Quechua tents). One thing to note is that at this time of year it gets very cold in the evenings, so make sure you have many layers and a good sleeping bag (they give you one as well, but a second does not hurt at all).

Incredible 3-day trek in the Simiens. Our guide, Haile, was genial and knowledgeable throughout the trek. He pointed out a Walia ibex, countless Gelada baboons, many amazing birds, cool plants, and geological formations. We joked around a lot; his spirit made the trip easy and fun, when otherwise the cold might have gotten to me a bit more. We are still in touch, and I am excited to book him again for other excursions next time. Many days we awoke to very thick fog, which made for chilly mornings and harrowing 'views' off of cliff sides...into the clouds. Fortunately, this inevitably cleared by noon, giving way to warm sun and gorgeous 360º vistas. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Simiens. Whether you are a birder, a family, a pro backpacker, a seasoned world traveler, or just curious, you will be pleasantly surprised day in and day out at what this park has to offer.

We have been to Simein mountain for 2 night/3days , it was amazing place the organazation was mensur!! We got a good service , 100% i recommand you to organazid your trip with Mensur ! He do also ogranized danakil depiression including free ride from debark to axum on the second day from axum to mekele on the way you will visit 3 churchs !! For a such execelent serivece he offer a good price !

We had a good experience with Mensur going to the Semien Mountain. We spent 2 nights and 3 days with a small group, it was cheape and awesome. I recommend him!

I didn‘t expect much before I would go to Simien Mountains, to be honest I didn‘t do a lot of research. Then I went with Mensur and his tour company to visit and hike for 3 nights and 4 days and was very surprised by the nature, the wildlife and the beautiful landscape. It might be better when you don‘t have much expectations and just enjoy it to its best- as much as possible. I felt the tour I had was very well organized and the prices were fair. my guide spoke very good english and was very attentive during the tour. Highly recommended!

I had an amazing texpierence in the simien mountains with mensur, it was absolutely amazing , so beautiful . We went for 4 days , 3 nights, I could not recommend some one more . I traveled africa for 8 months and mensur is one of the best guides I've had. Very knowledgeable and very professional .
